At Five & Thrive, we are fortunate to work alongside military spouses who dedicate their time, talents, and energy to strengthening military communities. One of those incredible leaders is Lael “Lolly” Cowell Anderson, a longtime advocate for military families and a valued member of the Five & Thrive Community Representative network.
Recently, Lolly was recognized with an impressive trifecta of honors for her service and leadership. According to a feature published by the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC), she was named Key Support Liaison of the Year at both the squadron and installation levels, Patrick Space Force Base Spouse of the Year, and was nominated for the Air Combat Command Joan Orr Air Force Spouse of the Year Award.
These recognitions reflect years of dedication to supporting military families, connecting spouses to resources, and helping communities thrive.
A Passion for Supporting Military Families
Military spouses often serve as the connective tissue within military communities. They welcome newcomers, share resources, advocate for families, and help others navigate the unique challenges that come with military life.
Lolly has embodied that role throughout her journey. Her work as a Key Support Liaison has helped bridge communication gaps, connect families to critical support services, and strengthen community networks. Beyond her formal volunteer roles, she has consistently been a trusted voice and advocate for military spouses.
Her efforts have extended beyond a single installation. Through collaboration with organizations like Five & Thrive, Lolly has contributed to conversations focused on improving quality of life for military families and ensuring spouse perspectives are represented in discussions that shape military communities.
What makes military spouse leadership so powerful is that it often happens behind the scenes. It is found in the phone calls, mentoring conversations, resource sharing, volunteer hours, and countless moments of support that may never make headlines. Yet those actions create meaningful change.
Lolly’s recognition serves as a reminder that military spouses are not only supporting their own families through military life, they are helping entire communities succeed. Their leadership strengthens resilience, fosters connection, and improves outcomes for military families at every stage of the journey.
We know firsthand the passion and commitment Lolly brings to everything she does. We are proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition and grateful for the impact she continues to make on military families across the country. Congratulations, Lolly, on this incredible achievement. Thank you for your leadership, your advocacy, and your unwavering commitment to helping military families thrive.
