Partners: Scott AFB; Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst; Military and Family Readiness Centers; EFMP medical, family support, assignments, and school liaison teams; SPAN Parent Advocacy Network; Military Family Support 360 Project

What They Did: Brings the major components of the Exceptional Family Member Program into one coordinated location so families can address medical, family support, special education, and assignment needs without navigating separate offices and appointments. Scott AFB modeled its center after the earlier JB McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst approach, where the installation also partnered with SPAN Parent Advocacy Network through the Military Family Support 360 Project.

Key Results: JB McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst launched the model first, and Scott AFB later replicated it. The approach reduces separate appointments and improves coordination across medical, education, and family support functions.

Replication Takeaway: Co-locate EFMP medical, family support, assignments, and school liaison functions; establish shared intake and case coordination; and partner with a trusted parent-advocacy organization to extend special education navigation and community support.
